SPRINGDALE -- The citys downtown may soon be home to residential spaces, new restaurants, a hangout and two parks.

The plans were announced Thursday during the Invest Springdale summit, sponsored by the Downtown Springdale Alliance and Springdale Chamber of Commerce at the Apollo Theater.

Movie Company Plans Move

Tyler Christopher, executive vice president of SkipStone Pictures, soon will move himself, his family and the film company to Springdale. He made the announcement during the Invest Springdale summit Thursday in Springdale.

The company produced and filmed the recent family friendly movies FREDI and Max Winslow and the House of Secrets in Northwest Arkansas. Christopher said the company is working on a musical production that will include students studying dance at the University of Arkansas.
