Identification & Behavior: ~114 cm (45 in). The Maguari Stork is all white with a black lower half of the body.  They have a long thick bill, red legs, and reddish bare skin around their pale eyes. The Maguari Stork is distinguished from the Wood Stork by having roughly half of the body black and red legs. In flight, both species look very similar. Also, see Jabiru.

Status: The Maguari Stork is considered a vagrant species in Peru. There are sight records from Pampas del Health. Additional records, including photographs, come from multiple sightings in Southern Peru. It also occurs in Co, Br, and Bo.
