If no male is present or has been with her up to 4 years ago, then likely the eggs are not fertile and will not hatch into turtles. Also having been in the water for so long will not increase their chances to hatch. These eggs should be discarded. They will make a huge mess in your tank if the break!!!Rotten egg smell and all!

Aquatic females lay eggs periodically even if no male is around or has mated with them. 

Yes, laying eggs can be a problem sometimes if the female does not want to lay them, particularly in water. They know this is a deadly place to lay their eggs so often they will frantically try to escape the tank before they lay. Often they will not eat and become very aggressive, too.

When her behavior changes (and this can happen 2-3 times a year usually from spring to early fall) then it is time to give her a laying bucket/nest. Get a large painter...
